Travel to Italy is a concept company in order to bring more tourism to Italy. In order to share “Italy” online, it is best to creatively show “themselves”.

Inspired by other marketing VFX shots and aligning with simplicity, I developed a short VFX scene that distinctively shows what Italy wants to share with the world. The result is a simple, yet complex animation that is meant to allow eager tourists to see the Italy’s appeal.

The Challenge

To create a simple, yet captivating travel advertisement that would entice tourists to travel to Italy.

My Role

As the sole animator and designer, I designed the original 3D assets and made a VFX scene over a tracked scene of a brick alleyway.

Solution:

Using my skills in Blender and 3D tracking in AfterEffects, I blended both aspects to create a seamless VFX scene that highlights the important atractions of Italy. Utilizing footage of an Italian-like alleyway, I wanted the 3D assets to be a part of the enviroment and personality of the alleyway. Even here, I think it is important to maintain that seamless relation and not to lose that identity/personality.

Using footage of a brick alleyway, I created a 3D VFX scene blending realism and VFX. I modeled a board of fruits, cheese, wine cup and bottle to show what Italy offers. I first motion tracked the footage and using an origin plane, I based my 3D animation off of that plane to create the animation in Blender.
